Which kidney is positioned lower in the human body?

The right kidney is positioned lower than the left kidney due to the anatomical arrangement of the surrounding organs. The liver, which is located on the right side of the abdomen, occupies a significant amount of space and pushes the right kidney down. This results in the right kidney being situated about one to two centimeters lower than the left kidney.

In contrast, the left kidney is positioned higher, partly because the spleen is located on the left side and creates less obstruction. While individual anatomical variations may exist, the typical anatomical structure demonstrates that the right kidney consistently has a lower position compared to the left.
